Enrollment, supervision:
Holders of a state-certified master's degree in architecture, a university master's degree, or an equivalent degree may apply for enrollment in a doctoral program if they have obtained a grade of at least 14/20 on their master's thesis.
Enrollment is carried out according to the following procedure:

- First, you must obtain the approval of a senior lecturer (authorized to supervise research) for your thesis project.

For EVCAU, these are:
Fazia Ali Toudert
Paolo Amaldi
Karim Basbous
Patrice Ceccarini
Emmanuel Doutriaux
Hassan Ait Haddou

- The application is then submitted to the doctoral school, which is responsible for the scientific project.

After enrollment at Paris Cité University, the doctoral thesis is supervised by the HDR director of studies, who may request co-supervision or co-direction.
The doctorate can be prepared at two institutions, French or foreign (joint supervision).

Funding
In terms of funding for studies, the thesis project may be eligible for various forms of assistance: doctoral contract (3 years), sponsorship, or a CIFRE agreement (3 years) between a company, ENSAPVS, the research unit, and the doctoral student. Each of these types of doctoral support is available at ENSAPVS and EVCAU.

Doctoral life
Doctoral students take several courses offered by doctoral school 624, designed to help them complete their thesis. They participate in an annual doctoral seminar (100 hours over 3 years) and in the activities of their research unit.
