International Symposium

Architecture and mental health

The Nanterre and Roger Prévot hospitals, in partnership with the Archidessa Chair, are organizing an international symposium on the processes of transferring mental health care activities from landscaped sites to sites integrated into the urban fabric. Through international case studies, the day of discussions will consider critical issues, narratives, and the memorial, material, and immaterial challenges. The symposium will take place on November 14, 2025, with the participation of international experts: psychiatrists, architects, urban planners, sociologists, medical professionals, hospital directors, and academic researchers. Partnering higher education institutions include: the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris-Val de Seine, Université Paris Cité, Università di Trieste, Università IUAV Venise, and Université de Nanterre.
