An unavoidable figure in both architecture and art history, Le Corbusier's work has been the subject of extensive research since the 20th century. This volume proposes a re-examination of Charles-Edouard Jeanneret's architectural output through the lens of two important concepts: the figure and heritage. Now considered a model in the curriculum of French universities and national schools of architecture, it seemed timely to renew our perspective on this work in order to reassess the architecture, and subsequently the architect.
The book brings together the proceedings of a study day conducted jointly, for the first time, by researchers from the Centre for History "Spaces and Cultures" of the University of Clermont Auvergne and the National School of Architecture of Clermont-Ferrand.
