Director of the EFEO Center in Bangkok from 2012 to 2016, Christophe Pottier was appointed Director of Studies at the EFEO headquarters in Paris from 2018 to 2022. Since September 2022, he has directed the EFEO center in Chiang Mai, where he conducts research on urban planning and architecture in Thailand, in parallel and as a complement to his work in Angkor, particularly on the use of lidar for urban studies and on exploratory research in environmental DNA. Since 2020, he has also coordinated the CHAMPA project for the EFEO, a heritage enhancement project in Laos funded by the French Development Agency (AFD).
